NICU

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a place where your premature baby and sick newborn babies are treated by specialists ones who are professionals. It is also known as an "intensive care nursery" or "newborn intensive care unit."

What Is NICU?

The NICU combines advanced technology with highly trained healthcare professionals to provide specialised care for the tiniest patients. Newborn babies who are born before completing 37 weeks of pregnancy or who require some medical attention require extra care and attention so that their health and well-being are managed.

In the NICU, our expert professionals and advanced equipment work together to provide a high level of support for fragile or premature babies. Ranging from cribs and bed warmers to incubators and advanced imaging modalities, the unit is fully equipped to handle any emergency. Once your little one becomes stable and no longer needs intensive care, they are gently shifted to a special care nursery or baby unit for continued monitoring and comfort.

What To Expect in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)?

When your baby is receiving treatment in the NICU, extra care and caution are critical. Babies in the NICU have delicate health, which makes them more vulnerable to infections like cold, flu, or diarrhoea. Because their immunity is still developing and their condition can be critical, sanitisation becomes essential.

Everyone who enters the NICU or meets the babies must follow strict hygiene practices to keep them safe and protected.
